FAQ ( Frequently Asked Questions)

What is a puddle flange?

A puddle flange is a circular metal plate welded around a pipe before it passes through a concrete wall, slab, tank, or foundation. It creates a barrier that prevents water seepage and leakage around the pipe penetration. Puddle flanges are widely used in plumbing, fire fighting, water treatment, and infrastructure projects.

Puddle flanges are used to create a watertight seal where pipes pass through concrete structures. They prevent water ingress, seepage, and structural damage, making them essential for underground tanks, basements, STPs, WTPs, and fire fighting systems.

Puddle flanges are commonly manufactured from Mild Steel (MS), Hot Dip Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steel 304, and Stainless Steel 316. The material selection depends on the project’s corrosion resistance requirements and operating environment.

A Hot Dip Galvanized Puddle Flange is a mild steel puddle flange coated with zinc through a hot dip galvanizing process. This coating provides superior corrosion resistance and extends the service life of the product in harsh environments.

Stainless Steel 304 offers excellent corrosion resistance for general applications, while Stainless Steel 316 provides enhanced resistance against chemicals, chlorides, and marine environments. SS316 is preferred for highly corrosive conditions.

Puddle flanges are available in a wide range of standard pipe sizes. Common sizes range from 15 mm to 600 mm and above. Custom sizes can also be manufactured according to project specifications and drawings.

Puddle flanges are widely used in:

  • Fire Fighting Systems
  • Plumbing Networks
  • Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
  • Data Centers
  • Commercial Buildings
  • Industrial Facilities
  • Underground Water Tanks
  • Infrastructure Projects

Yes. We manufacture custom puddle flanges based on pipe diameter, wall thickness, project requirements, and client drawings. Custom fabrication ensures proper fitment and performance.

The flange becomes embedded within the concrete during casting. This creates a physical barrier that blocks water from passing along the outer surface of the pipe, preventing leakage and seepage.

Yes. Our puddle flanges are commonly used in fire fighting piping systems where watertight pipe penetrations through walls and tanks are required.
